Understanding Your Soils – Palmer
An interactive soil workshop.
About
Join WoTL for an introductory workshop on understanding your soil. Presented by Amanda Schapel of PIRSA, the day will cover:
- What makes a healthy soil?
- Methods to assess soil physical, chemical and biological health
- Reading a soil test report and understanding what it means for your farm.
- Soil carbon and a discussion on carbon farming
- Microbiome
- Practical session on testing for pH and soil texture
This will be an interactive day, including a paddock walk. Please wear enclosed shoes and bring a hat and water.
Please bring a soil sample with you and any soil test results to look at during the session.

9.00 am for a 9.15 start to 2.30 pm
Location
The workshop will be held in the Pinnaroo area. The address will be provided by email closer to the event date.
Cost
$55 + Booking Fee
The day includes morning tea, lunch and a soil pH testing kit to take home.
The full cost of this event is $460 which has been heavily reduced thanks to support of event sponsors.
