Paddocks & Picnics: Crop Foundations – Clare Valley 2026

A district tour exploring soil types, crop rotations, and nitrogen basics, gaining learnings to apply to your own ‘project paddock’.

About

Grab your boots and your travel mug; we’re hitting the road for a look-see at what’s happening in the paddock! Led by renown Agronomist, Jeff Braun, we’ll cover the fundamentals of crop and soil health and grab a picnic in the paddock along the way.

Attendees are invited to nominate their own “Project Paddock” , so as a group you can;

  • Investigate each paddock’s four-year history to understand what’s happening at the ground level.
  • Identify and query differences in agronomic decision making, specific to rainfall, soil, and conditions.
  • Delve into weed ID.
  • Discuss practical tools and support for your role in the business.

This workshop is about creating a space for those new to the area, new to farming, or those with decades of experience, to learn more about crops and soils across the Mid North.
